Return and exchange policy

Last updated : 2026/10/01
The Selaa platform has established a return and exchange policy with the aim of regulating the relationship between the customer and the merchant, reducing disputes and risks, and preserving the rights of all parties, in accordance with Sharia provisions and applicable regulations .
Selaaacts as a platform that brings together customers with stores and sellers. Therefore, the merchant is the seller of the product and is responsible for the product, its description, conformity, condition, and its warranty, return and exchange policy, while Selaaprovides the platform, support services, coordination, delivery and collection according to the available service .

First: Each product's policy
Every merchant is obligated to define a clear policy for each product before publishing it, and this information appears to the customer on the product page before completing the order, within the section :
Product Policies
• Warranty : Available for [number of days] or not available .
• Returns : Available for [number of days] or not available .
• Replacement : Available for [number of days] or not available .
The product policy that is visible to the customer at the time of order completion is part of the information and conditions on which the sale was based .
A product retains the product policy data that was visible at the time of order completion, and a subsequent change of policy by the merchant does not affect previous orders .
Important Notice
The following phrase appeared :
Returns
,
exchanges
, and
warranties are not available.
This means that the merchant does not, in principle, offer an additional optional commercial policy in this regard, and it does not mean waiving any legitimate or established legal right of the customer .
The merchant may not use the product policy to be exempt from liability for defect , fraud, misrepresentation, non-conformity or any mandatory obligation established by law .

Second: When can the customer request an exchange or refund?
The customer may request an exchange or refund depending on the condition of the product, the advertised policy, and legal and regulatory rights, including :
1- The product does not match the order.
like :
• A different color .
• Different size .
• different model or style .
• Different quantities .
• A different product .
2- Product defect
If a significant defect appears in the product that was not disclosed to the customer before purchase .
The merchant must not conceal any significant defect he knows about in the product, because concealing a significant defect and cheating in describing the goods are contrary to honesty in buying and selling .
3- The product does not conform to the description or specifications
If the product delivered to the customer differs significantly from the basic information or specifications with which the product was presented and on which the sale was based .
4- Cancel the purchase
A customer can request a return simply to cancel a purchase only when :
• The product policy allows returns within a specified period; or
• There is a legal right that applies to the case; or
• The merchant agrees to the dismissal and resale .
A customer's change of mind is not an automatic reason for returning the goods in all products unless there is a legitimate or legal right or a commercial agreement that grants it .

Third: The basic replacement period
In cases where the system allows for replacement, the customer has the right to replace the product once within three days of receiving it, without incurring replacement costs, subject to the exceptions, rights, or better conditions announced by the merchant .
The merchant may grant the customer a longer period or better terms than that, and this additional period shall be binding on him if it was declared at the time of purchase .
As for returns and refunds, this does not mean that all products are returnable simply because of a change of mind; a return is only valid if there is a defect , or if replacement is not possible, or in accordance with the product policy or the applicable legal right .

Fourth: Conditions for accepting returns or exchanges
When a return or exchange is due to a change of policy or according to the merchant's optional policy, the following conditions apply, depending on the nature of the product :
• The product must be in its original condition to the extent necessary for resale .
• It must not have been used in a way that changes its condition or reduces its value in an unusual way .
• The presence of the basic accessories that were delivered with the product .
• Maintaining the packaging to the extent that the nature of the product allows .
• The customer must not have caused damage to the product or a shortage of it .
The customer's rights relating to defect or non-conformity are not forfeited merely by opening the packaging or examining the product to the extent normally necessary to ascertain its condition and conformity .

Fifth: Cases in which exchange or return may not be accepted due to the nature of the product
There may be products that are not eligible for exchange or return due to their nature, packaging, condition, or due to a regulatory exclusion, including, for example :
• Products or materials that deteriorate quickly .
• Products whose nature or packaging makes it impossible to restore them to their original condition or resell them .
• Products whose condition has changed due to use or action by the customer .
• Products that are manufactured or modified specifically based on specifications provided by the customer and that conform to those specifications .
• Books, newspapers, magazines and electronic programs, in cases where the regulatory exception applies .
• Products that cannot be resold hygienically after being opened or used due to their nature, when the regulatory exception applies to them .
The merchant must consider the nature of the product when determining the return and exchange policy, and exceptions may not be used as a pretext to waive a proven right of the customer due to a defect , non-conformity, fraud, or misrepresentation .

Sixth: If the mistake is from the merchant
If the reason for the return or exchange request is :
• A defective product .
• A different product than what was requested .
• A quantity is missing .
• Incorrect or misleading descriptions or specifications .
• Damage occurred before delivery and was caused by the merchant .
• The product does not match what was agreed upon .
• Or any other error that is the fault of the merchant .
The merchant must address the situation and bear the costs resulting from his mistake, in accordance with the situation and applicable regulations .
The customer should not be charged for a mistake he did not cause .

Seventh: Damage or error resulting from the connection
If it is proven that the product was damaged during delivery due to negligence or error on the part of the party responsible for delivery, the case will be dealt with with the responsible party and the merchant according to the cause of the damage .
However, if the damage is caused by the customer’s actions after receiving the product, the merchant or the product itself is not responsible for it .
If the customer notices any visible damage to the packaging or product, it is advisable to document the situation with photos or videos and inform the merchant immediately .

Eighth: Substitution
Upon approval of the replacement :
• If the alternative is of the same type or value, the customer does not bear any price difference .
• If the alternative is of lesser value, the customer will be refunded the difference due .
• If the customer chooses a higher-value alternative, he pays the price difference after his approval .
• If the alternative product is not available, the order will be processed according to the customer's right to a refund or other available options .
The customer may not be forced to accept an alternative different from what he requested without his consent .

Ninth: Contact the merchant before contacting the seller about the product.
Each merchant is required to include a specific and active customer service number for their product, and the merchant's contact number should be displayed to the customer within the information related to the store, product, or order .
If the customer wishes to return or exchange an item, or if there is a problem with the product, they must first contact the seller via their customer service number .
Both parties are working to reach a suitable solution in accordance with the product policy and legal and regulatory rights .
If no agreement is reached
if :
• The merchant refused to address the situation without a legitimate reason .
• The merchant could not be contacted .
• The two sides did not reach an agreement .
• Or the customer felt that the merchant's decision did not protect his rights.
The customer can contact the product's customer service to review the status .
Customer service of a product
+963 983 461 245
Contacting the merchant first does not prevent the customer from maintaining any period or right granted to him, therefore, communication must be initiated within the period specified for the product or system .
If the merchant's number is inactive or cannot be contacted, the customer can contact the seller directly .

Tenth: How to submit a return or exchange request
The process is carried out through direct communication :
Phase One: The Merchant
The customer contacts the merchant via the customer service number shown on the store or product page .
It is preferable for the customer to provide the merchant with :
• order number .
• Product name .
• Reason for requesting a return or exchange .
• Product images when needed .
• Video when needed to show the defect or condition .
• Any other information that helps verify the order .
Phase Two: Commodity
If the customer and the merchant cannot reach an agreement, the customer should contact the product's customer service at :
+963 983 461 245
It is preferable to send proof of contact with the merchant, and any photos, videos or documents related to the case .

Eleventh: Check the product and request a return or exchange
In order to protect the rights of the customer and the merchant and to prevent fraud or misuse of the return and exchange policy, Sal3a has the right, when necessary, to check the details of the product and the order .
The verification may include :
• Review the product description, specifications, and images that were published at the time of purchase .
• Review the product policy that was advertised at the time of order completion .
• Review the order and invoice details .
• Review the delivery and shipping information .
• Review the correspondence between the customer and the merchant related to the order .
• Request photos or videos of the product .
• Request images of the packaging, serial number, or product data, if available .
• Request proof of purchase, source, or warranty from the merchant when needed .
• Inspect the product upon return .
• Checking the condition of the product and how it has been used .
• Verify that the reported defect actually exists and is not the result of misuse .
• Seek the assistance of an expert or a specialized technical body when the nature of the product requires it .
The customer must keep the product and not dispose of it, repair it, or exchange it before the review process is completed, whenever possible .
The merchant must also cooperate with the seller and provide them with information and documents related to the product when requested .

Twelfth: Products of dubious origin or conformity
If there are serious indications relating to the safety , origin, authenticity, conformity, or legality of the product , the seller may request additional documents or information from the merchant for verification .
A commodity may, when necessary, temporarily suspend or discontinue the product display until verification is complete .
Furthermore, the seller may take appropriate action against the store if it is proven that :
• Selling a product of unknown origin or illegal .
• Providing misleading information or specifications .
• Concealing a significant flaw .
• Selling a product that does not match the description .
• Tampering with the warranty, replacement, or return .
• Repeated valid complaints or violations .
The verification of the store or its appearance on the Selaa platform does not mean that Selaa has become the manufacturer of the product, nor does the store's verification represent an independent guarantee for each product sold by the merchant .

Thirteenth: If the defect or non-conformity is proven
If the review process shows that the product :
• Defective .
• Not as requested .
• Not conforming to the basic description .
• Incomplete .
• Or he suffered damage due to the liability of the merchant or the delivery person.
The case is handled in a way that protects the client's rights, and the solution may be :
Replacement, or repair when appropriate and legitimate, or return of the product and refund, or any other solution agreed upon by both parties and which preserves the customer's rights .
The customer's established right may not be disabled due to verification procedures .

Fourteenth: If the defect or error is not proven
If, after verification, it is found that the product matches what was ordered and there is no defect justifying return or exchange, and the situation does not fall under the merchant’s optional return policy or any other legal or legitimate right, then the return or exchange request may be rejected with an explanation of the reason for the rejection .
The request may not be rejected by a general statement such as "goods cannot be returned or exchanged" without stating the reason for the rejection and the basis on which it was based .

Fifteenth: Customer Responsibility
The customer is responsible for any damages resulting from :
• Product misuse .
• Use contrary to instructions .
• Destroying the product after receiving it .
• Tampering with the product or its components .
• Removing data or identification numbers necessary for verification, when this is the reason for the inability to verify and is due to the customer .
• Providing incorrect or misleading information about the condition of the product .
This does not prevent the customer from exercising his rights if the defect or non-conformity existed before that or is unrelated to his action .

Sixteenth: Returning money
When the customer is found to be entitled to a refund, the amount due for the product that was approved for return will be refunded .
The commission on a commodity or any other dues between it and the merchant does not affect the amount that the customer is proven to be entitled to .
In cases of defect, non-conformity, or error on the part of the merchant or the party responsible for delivery, delivery and return costs are handled in accordance with liability for error and applicable regulations .
If payment is made upon delivery, a suitable and available refund method will be agreed upon with the customer .
The customer is not obligated to accept a purchase voucher or credit in lieu of the amount due to him except with his consent, unless there is an applicable regulatory provision that stipulates otherwise .

Seventeenth: Return and exchange costs
If the reason for the return or exchange is a mistake by the merchant, a defect in the product, or non-conformity, the customer shall not bear the costs resulting from the mistake that he did not cause .
However, if the return or exchange is according to an optional policy set by the merchant simply to cancel the purchase, then the conditions announced on the product page apply, provided that they do not violate any applicable legal or regulatory right .

Eighteenth: Disputes between customer and merchant
When a conflict arises, the basic mechanism is :
The customer contacts the merchant and then contacts the seller if an agreement cannot be reached .
When a dispute escalates, the process involves reviewing the available data and evidence and attempting to reach a fair resolution between the two parties .
A product may require any party to provide additional information, images, or documents before making its administrative decision regarding processing the request .
The involvement of a commodity in resolving a dispute does not mean that it has become the seller of the product, unless the commodity is the advertised seller of that product .
This policy does not prevent the customer or merchant from exercising any legal or legitimate right to which he is entitled .

Nineteenth: Honesty and legal commitment
The company is committed to preventing practices that conflict with the provisions of Islamic law in buying and selling, including :
• Cheating .
• Deception .
• Concealing significant flaws .
• Providing misleading descriptions or images .
• Selling products that are forbidden by Islamic law or prohibited by the legal system .
• Fabricating complaints, requests, or evidence .
• Exploiting the return or exchange policy to deceive or harm the other party .
The merchant is obligated to sell what he owns or has the right to sell, to disclose the truth about the product, its descriptions and significant defects, and to abide by the conditions he announced to the customer .

Twentieth: Priority of legal and statutory rights
In all cases, no merchandise policy or store policy may be interpreted as permitting the forfeiture of an established right of the customer or exempting the merchant from a mandatory obligation .
If there is a conflict between the merchant’s policy and a legally binding ruling or an applicable system, the conflicting condition shall not be considered within the limits of the conflict .
Selaa reserves the right to update this policy when systems, work mechanisms, or services provided change, provided that the update does not retroactively affect acquired rights related to previous requests except as permitted by the system .
